MAL Secret Santa 2021 was my first MAL Secret Santa event, and it was also my first time helping out as an elf. I was assigned to the team, Elf-tama. This team is responsible for users who have around 400 or more anime watched.

On October 1, 2021, I applied for “Writer” in MAL Rewrite after seeing their second recruitment drive in 2021. I, unfortunately, did not get accepted. I tried again after I saw their first recruitment drive for 2022 on April 30, 2022. To my surprise, they approved my “Writer” application on May 1, 2022. I think I barely got through, so there are a lot of things I need to work on to, hopefully, meet the expectations.

After seeing the need for News Moderators in MAL’s moderator recruitment post on June 3, 2022, I decided to apply for the position to test my luck and skills on June 6, 2022. Following the different phases and processes, I formally became a News Moderator on August 20, 2022. Similarly, I still have many things to work on to become the ideal News Moderator suitable for the News Team.
